Registration

  • Online registration begins on 04/17/2025 at 01:00 pm (CDT) and closes 06/26/2025 at midnight (CDT).
  • Pre-registration (online) price per splash for this event is $27.00 (CAD) per dog. Payment is due upon check-in.
  • Splashes can be purchased on-site the day of the event for $32.00 (CAD) per dog.
  • Payment is required at check-in for all pre-registered splashes. Refunds will not be issued if you fail to show up for your turn.

Event Notes

  • A NADD Registration Number is required to enter, purchase here for $35.00.
  • Splashes include up to three minutes on the dock for one optional practice jump and two judged jumps. You must inform the judge prior to your jump if you want it to be considered a "practice jump".
  • The jump order is set by a posted running order. Each splash closes 30 minutes prior to start time. Failure to be present at the beginning of the splash can result if the forfeiture of jumping in that splash.
  • Each distance jumping Splash allows 2 judged jumps, back to back. The longest jump of them will be your Qualifying Score.
  • You can earn a Diving Dog Title at this event. You must have five Qualifying Scores within a Division. NADD titles are recognized by the AKC and CKC through their recognition programs. View their applications here (AKC) and here (CKC).
  • Please read the official NADD Rules before you attend the Trial.

Try-its at this event

  • Try-its will be allowed as space permits and during Splashes if no competitors are waiting to jump. Try-its cost $10.00.

FRIDAY

1:45pm - Pool Closed, Judge Meeting

2pm - First Dog on the Dock Distance

2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm, 8pm - Distance Jumps

6:30pm - Hydro Dash

 

SATURDAY & SUNDAY

8am - Site, Registration, and Pool Opens

8:45am - Pool Closed, Judge Meeting

9am - First Dog on the Dock Distance

9am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3pm - Distance Jumps

12pm Saturday - Air Retrieve

12pm Sunday - Hydro Dash

**Duck Game will be done following the completion of Saturday's NADD event.  Duck Game registration is available to registered NADD competitors only.  Register for the Duck Game at the secretary desk on-site Saturday only.   Registration is limited to one spot per dog.  Limited number of spots.**

Air Retrieve and Hydro Dash - Facility NERF bumpers will be used

Try-its and practice turns will be offered at the discretion of the facility as time and space allow.  Try-its are $10 for 3 minutes.

Dogs participating in "Try-its" do not need to be registered with NADD, but they must sign up and sign the waiver.

Dogs less than 6 months old may practice and do try-its.

    

EVENT DETAILS:

This is an outdoor event

Porta-potties on-site

Crating is from your vehicle - There is room for you to set up a shade tent and have a couple chairs next to your vehicle

Dry-camping is available upon request

  

AWARDS:

Ribbons are awarded for each qualifying jump, and Rosettes for each title earned.

Ribbons will be available for pick-up at the secretary desk shortly after each splash.  It is the responsibility of each registered competitor to pick up their ribbons at the event.

FACILITY NOTES:

PRAIRIE DOG SPORTS INC. reserves the right to refuse any person(s) and or dog(s) entry to the facility and events.

  

Follow directional signage and park in approved parking only.

 

Please respect a minimum 8' distance between all dogs and handlers.

 

No nose-to-nose contact with other dogs.  You are here to work and engage with your dog(s).

 

If a dog is handled in an aggressive or inappropriate manner a warning may be issued, or the team may be asked to leave without refund(s).

 

Treats or food are not allowed in the pool/dock area.

 

Pushing or shoving of dogs into pool is strictly forbidden.

 

All dogs must be crated safely and securely when not working.

Acceptable crates include those that have a solid frame on all sides once together to keep the dog stationary and contained, i.e. solid wall crates, wire crates. and soft crates. 

Not acceptable crates include those that do not have a solid frame on all sides once together to keep the dog stationary and contained, i.e. x-pens, pop-ups.  Your vehicle does not constitute an acceptable crate.

 

Do not walk your dog(s) off leash.

Dogs must be on leash at all times except when in crate or on the dock.

No retractable leashes permitted on the property.

 

Electronic collars/devices are NOT allowed anywhere onsite - this includes electronic bark collars.  Prong or pinch collars may be used on site while walking dog, but the collar must be removed before the dog/handler enters pool/dock area.

 

Potty your dog at least 40' away from any entrance/exit.  Do not potty your dog on the buildings, vehicles, garbage cans, pylons or anything not natural.

 

You are responsible for picking up after your dog(s).  Failure to comply will result in dismissal and/or a one-year ban from the facility and no refund(s) will be issues.

 

Females in season will NOT be permitted in the pool/dock area.

 

Please bring your own water, water dish and poop bags for your dog(s).

 

Please notify staff if your dog eliminates in the pool/dock area for appropriate cleaning and sanitizing.

Lacombe is 15 minutes away and has full services.

Where to Stay:

$10 per night - On-site dry camping is available to registered participants for this event by preregistration only.

Limited spots email michelle@prairiedogsports.ca to reserve.

Lacombe has several pet friendly accommodation options.
There are several Provincial Parks within a 20 minute drive (Gull Lake & Sylvan Lake) as well as local campgrounds in the Lacombe, Blackfalds, Bentley areas.
