  • Online registration closes 12/10/2022 at midnight (CDT).
  • Price per splash for this event is $30.00 (USD) per dog. Payment is due upon check-in.
  • Payment is required at check-in for all pre-registered splashes. Refunds will not be issued if you fail to show up for your turn.

Event Notes

  • A NADD Registration Number is required to enter, purchase here for $35.00.
  • Splashes include up to three minutes on the dock for one optional practice jump and two judged jumps. You must inform the judge prior to your jump if you want it to be considered a "practice jump".
  • This event is being run by a NADD mobile dock. Info on parking and other event site info can be found on the event description or on our social media page.
  • This event is an Open Splash event. This is done at Portable Dock trials and other shows that have timing conflicts with other dog events. The time for each splash for the day will be set such as 9am for example for all the splashes. You have between the posted start time and end time (either before AR starts or the end of the last day, usually 3pm) to complete your splashes for the day. When you check in you will be handed “Splash Cards” for each splash that you pay for. When you are ready to jump during the day, hand a splash card to the wrangler to get put into the running order. It is the handler's responsibility to be sure to be present it before their turn to jump. Please be aware that at many events, the running order board fills very quickly and early in the day.
  • Please Note: You must pay for all pre registered splashes at time of check-in. Any splashes not paid for will be put back into the event's on-site registration availability list and result in a no-show. If you are registering multiple dogs there will be a no-show for each dog. You are responsible for all pre-registered splashes.
  • Each distance jumping Splash allows 2 judged jumps, back to back. The longest jump of them will be your Qualifying Score.
  • You can earn a Diving Dog Title at this event. You must have five Qualifying Scores within a Division. NADD titles are recognized by the AKC and CKC through their recognition programs. View their applications here (AKC) and here (CKC).

NADD Regionals Qualifier

This is a qualifier event for the NADD Diving Dog Regionals.
  • In order to qualify for Distance Jump, each dog must have a minimum of three DJ splashes completed at this event. We then take the average of the top three jumps from the event for each dog. Only the top 3 dogs in each division will receive an automatic Distance Jump invite to the Regionals.
  • Jumps in all the Splashes will count towards your NADD/AKC titles.
  • The Air Retrieve and Hydro Dash qualifier will be based on the highest score achieved at the event. In both Open & Lap, the Top 3 Finishers for each division will earn invites.

Try-its at this event

  • Try-its will be allowed as space permits and during Splashes if no competitors are waiting to jump. Try-its cost $10.00.

Other Notes

 This event is always exciting! Surrounded by other great events in one of the largest venues in a great tourist destination.  

 

Anyone who wants to help with setup on Monday, teardown late Tuesday, or tasks around the pool please reach out so we can add you to the list.  

It’s also a very busy event.  We will open 45 mins before the first splash each day.  
In previous years there was a line in the morning waiting to reserve their spots for the day. 

I’ll update you in another email on any regulations related to parking, Covid, entry, etc.  

 

Reminder : splashes are $30 for this event.  Cash and Venmo are appreciated. Also accepted are checks, credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay… 

 

This is a qualifier and a busy event so please know the rules and be ready when it is 2 dogs from your turn. 


you can go out the back doors to a grassy area to potty.  


There is typically plenty of crating available beside the pool. Bring crate covers, take up the  minimum space for your crates.  

Don’t take wet dogs on walks around the building (away from the pool area).  Please bring towels to dry them off once you leave the dock.  


There will be 2 sets of stairs at this event.  One for entry and the other for exit.  

Schedule 

We will have AR or HD At 12 and 4 or 5 each day.   Limited spots for the noon session. 

 

Tues-thurs it says the first splash is at 10am.  It will start at 9:30, so we open at 8:45.  

Fri-Sun we open at 8:15 with the splash starting about 8:50am. 

Tues-Sunday cards must be in by 3pm and we will go until everyone has jumped. if your cards aren’t in by 3pm you may need to use them another day or forfeit that splash.  Please check in at the board by 3pm each day.   

Try-its 

there will be a max of 6 slots per day and they will be 3 mins only.  The exception may be if the board has multiple spaces open in the next hour. 

There will be Santa splash and SE dock merchandise available at this event.  

 

It’s a lot to cover and hopefully knowing the criteria makes the experience and more enjoyable for you and your canine athletes.

Dogs are limited to NO MORE THAN 12 distance splashes for the event. If you sign up for more than 12, you will be refunded the entries and removed from the splashes over the limit of 12.     Splashes are $30 at this event due to the extra costs to be in the building.

  

 

 

Driving Directions to the OCCC North/South Building:
From the Orlando International Airport (EAST) 25 minutes
1. Go west on SR 528 ($2.25 toll) to exit 1 (International Drive)
2. Go north (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
3. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South
Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto
Convention Way and following to Universal Boulevard, turn right onto Universal
Boulevard.

From Daytona Beach or Downtown Orlando (NORTHEAST)
1. Take Interstate 4 west to the SR 528 exit (Exit 72)
2. Travel east on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)
3. North (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
4. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South
Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto
Convention Way and following to Universal Boulevard, turn right onto Universal
Boulevard.

From Gainesville, Florida (NORTHWEST) 2 hours
1. Take Interstate 75 south to Florida’s Turnpike
2. Go south on Florida’s Turnpike to Interstate 4 west
3. Go west on Interstate 4 to the SR 528 exit (Exit 72)
4. Go east on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)
5. Go north (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
6. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South
Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto
Convention Way and following to Universal Boulevard, turn right onto Universal
Boulevard.

From Tampa, Florida (SOUTHWEST) 1 hour 15 minutes
1. Take Interstate 4 east to the SR 528 exit (Exit 72)
2. East on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)
3. North (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
4. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South
Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto

From Miami, Florida (SOUTHEAST) 3-4 hours, via Interstate 95
1. Take Interstate 95 north to SR 528
2. Go west on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)
3. Go north (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
4. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South
Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto
Convention Way and following to Universal Boulevard, turn right onto Universal

Via Florida’s Turnpike
1. Take Turnpike north to Interstate 4 west
2. Go west on Interstate 4 to the SR 528 exit (Exit 72)
3. Go east on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)

*** PLEASE NOTE THE IMPORTANT COVID-19 RULES THAT APPLIES TO EVERY
PERSON ATTENDING THE EVENTS ALL WEEK***
If you will be at the Orange County Convention Center for any AKC Events or Activities
during AKC’s Event Week, December 11 through 19, 2022, you agree to comply with all of
AKC’s COVID-19 Safety Protocols that may be required at the time.
AKC will follow the COVID-19 guidance of the CDC as well as local, state and federal
requirements.
AKC may require additional health safety protocols at the time of the Event Week. All
information is subject to change at the discretion of the American Kennel Club.
 If your dog soils the
parking lot, show grounds or hotel property, you must clean up after it immediately.

(including all parking lots) and the hotels have 24-hour security cameras on their grounds.


NO bicycles and motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted in the facility at any time.

No flexi-leads or “Halter Leads” allowed inside the facility at any time.

No exhibitor unloading will be permitted into the unloading area until Monday
12/12/2022 at 10:00 AM.
You cannot drive inside the building at any time.

ENTER THE PARKING LOTS VIA THE PARKING
COLLECTION BOOTHS: PAY THE $10.00 FEE (You have “in and out” access with this
reduced parking fee) AND ROLL IN YOUR EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY FROM THE
PARKING LOTS, WHICH ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE MAIN UNLOADING DOORS.

Overnight security will be provided. Building hours are 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
 

 

NADD will attempt to work with all show conflicts, but it is the handlers responsibility to inform NADD of these issues with enough time for NADD to make adjustments.

 

If your conflicts do not allow you to get to the pool until 4:00pm or later, you will have to wait until the conclusion of air retrieve or hydro dash to jump.
