Event Notes
- A NADD Registration Number is required to enter, purchase here for $35.00.
- Splashes include up to three minutes on the dock for one optional practice jump and two judged jumps. You must inform the judge prior to your jump if you want it to be considered a "practice jump".
- The jump order is set by a posted running order. Each splash closes 30 minutes prior to start time. Failure to be present at the beginning of the splash can result if the forfeiture of jumping in that splash.
- Each distance jumping Splash allows 2 judged jumps, back to back. The longest jump of them will be your Qualifying Score.
- You can earn a Diving Dog Title at this event. You must have five Qualifying Scores within a Division. NADD titles are recognized by the AKC and CKC through their recognition programs. View their applications here (AKC) and here (CKC).
- Please read the official NADD Rules before you attend the Trial.
NADD Regionals Qualifier
- In order to qualify for Distance Jump, each dog must have a minimum of three DJ splashes completed at this event. We then take the average of the top three jumps from the event for each dog. Only the top 3 dogs in each division will receive an automatic Distance Jump invite to the Regionals.
- Jumps in all the Splashes will count towards your NADD/AKC titles.
- The Air Retrieve and Hydro Dash qualifier will be based on the highest score achieved at the event. In both Open & Lap, the Top 3 Finishers for each division will earn invites.
Try-its at this event
- Try-its will be allowed as space permits and during Splashes if no competitors are waiting to jump. Try-its cost $10.00.

Other Notes
The first splash of each day start at 8 a.m.
We should be under 50 people. The amount of dogs entered sometimes can be misleading as many competitors have two or three dogs. We also have the space and means to ensure the 6-ft distancing which is what is most important to holding an event.
All businesses and public places in Sierra Vista require a face mask to enter.
Everyone is responsible to pick up their ribbons from the Trial Secretary. Due to COVID-19 Ribbons are not self-serve for this event. See section below on ribbons.
We appreciate your coming to our event. If there is anything we can do to make your experience better, please let us know. Contact Person is Mary Watcher, 520-456-9020, mary@animalwatchers.com.
Please be sure to read our COVID-19 Plan at the end of this section. By attending this event you are agreeing to abide by the rules set forth in Amazing Canines/Animal Watchers COVID-19 Plan. Please remember to bring your signed NADD waiver and signed NADD COVID-19 waiver (available on the NADD website).
Because of COVID-19 the pool will only be open for competition splashes on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We will not have a food vendor as we have no way to know if they are following COVID-19 guidelines. We do not have fast food restaurants close by. There is a Chevron station within a half-mile of us, and in Huachuca City (10 minute drive south of us) are a Circle K, and 3 restaurants. Sierra Vista (15-20 minute drive) has plenty of fast food, chain restaurants, etc.
All start times are estimates.
To make the diving order easier we are keeping the same diving order for all 3 days. We will use your dog's name in alphabetical order.

AMAZING CANINES
NADD Facility Event COVID-19 Plan
September 4 to September 7, 2020
OVERVIEW:
We made the decision to require masks when speaking to the event secretary and judges. You do not have to wear a mask when entering the fenced-in pool area or when at your canopy. We will be strictly enforcing a 6-foot distance regulation. Please help us by staying 6-feet away from everyone, even friends unless you drove here with them. Anyone who does not maintain a 6-ft distance will be asked to leave immediately and will forfeit their splashes/money.
SOCIAL DISTANCING:
Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow spectators or try-its.
Everyone must check in before entering the pool area.
No Exceptions.
Parking: We will not be able to have a "loading/unloading" area for this event.
Check-In. There will be a table(s) to the right of the entrance gate. 6-ft ground markers lead up to the check in-desk. Please put your signed 1) NADD COVID-19 Waiver and 2) NADD Event Waiver into the appropriate boxes on the table. These two Waivers must be completed, signed and dated prior to checking in. They can be found on the NADD website and you may email them to me prior to the event: mary@animalwatchers.com.
Payment. Please have exact amount if paying by cash. All checks need to be made payable to "Animal Watchers". We will accept VISA or MC, but for this event it would be helpful to us (less contact with a person) if you can pay by cash or check.
Diving Order. You will receive a "diving order of dogs" the night before the event, or sooner. The order will be by the dog's name, in reverse alphabetically. We are doing this so you don't have to crowd around the Entrance Gate or the secretary's area looking to see when it's your turn. We will try to post the "diving order" in several places for your convenience. Please email me immediately if you require any changes to the diving order.
Entering and Exiting the fenced in Pool Area: There will be one gate to enter the pool vicinity and another to exit. They are clearly marked.
To keep the event running smoothly and timely we have provided 4 canopies with chairs to the entrance gate. This way the next 4 people will always be ready. As the person and dog on the dock turn away from the divider of the entrance and exit gates, the next person and dog should enter and get on the dock. Everyone under the canopies will advance 1 canopy closer to the dock entrance.
Pool / Dock: You will be entering the dock on the left staircase, again it is clearly marked Entrance. You will be leaving the pool by the right side staircase. There will be a divider between the 2 staircases.
Scores: To avoid a gathering of people, we encourage you to check your scores on the NADD website. They are normally posted a few minutes after the secretary enters them.
Ribbons: All your Qualifying ribbons for the event will be given to you at check-in. For any New Title, Advanced and Excellent ribbons, you will need to get from the Event Secretary. Ribbons are not self-serve so that we can limit the amount of people touching your ribbon. Again, please only approach the table one at a time, keeping 6-ft apart.
Leaving the Event Grounds: When your splashes are finished for the day, please exit the grounds as soon as you can. The less people we have on the grounds the easier it is to maintain 6-feet from other people.
SANITATION:
Gates: All gates will remain open throughout the event including gates on the dock. Please remember the 12 acres where the pool is located is not fenced in.
Bathrooms. For this event our inside bathroom will not be available for use. We will have 3 Port-a-Potties near the exit. There is a 4th port-a-potty (handicap) over next to the agility field. These port-a-potties will each have a bottle of Lysol and paper towels so you can wipe the toilet seat, door handle, etc. Hand sanitizers will be available right next to the port-a-potties.
High-Traffic Areas: If you notice an area that needs to be sprayed, please let us know.
FACILITIES INFORMATION
520-456-9020
Driveway Gate:
Entering: Our driveway has an electronic gate. The key pad is on the left side (driver's side) when entering. The Code is 1, 2, 3, 4. The Code is also written on the key pad.
Exiting: The gate should open automatically for you. If it does not open there is a red box on the left side of the driveway that has a remote control in it which has always worked. Just point it towards the gate, push the button and return the remote to the box.
Loading and Unloading: For this event we will not have a loading/unloading area. You will need to carry your belongings from your car to the set-up area.
Parking: There are plenty of parking spots.
All dog must be on leash at all times except on the dock or inside the fenced potty area.
Bring a canopy for shade, ground is dirt.
Covered Agility Area. You may set-up in the agility area, it is definitely cooler than under a canopy. Do not use any of the agility equipment. Anyone using the agility equipment will be asked to leave.
THE 12 ACRES THAT THE POOL IS ON IS NOT COMPLETELY FENCED IN.
