As of June 30, 2020 our event at Amazing Canines / Animal Watchers will take place.  We should definitely be under 50 people.  The amount of dogs entered sometimes can be misleading as many competitors have two or three dogs.  We also have the space and means to ensure the 6-ft distancing which is what is most important to holding an event. The new rule states if you have a gathering of more than 50 people you need to get the event approved by the mayor if it will be in a city, or if rural (which we are) by the Board of Supervisors.  So as of today we do not need to cancel the event.

Thank you, Mary Watcher 520-456-9020

As of June 28, 2020, the state of Arizona does not require a face mask or gloves to be worn.  However, on June 26, 2020, the city of Sierra Vista passed an emergency declaration. requiring that people over the age of 10 wear face coverings or shields while in public in Sierra Vista when physical distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible.

"In public" is defined as: Indoor spaces that are overseen by the city of Sierra Vista where the public is allowed to enter; outdoor spaces such as parks, playgrounds, parking lots, and other areas such as places where the public would gather while waiting to enter an establishment; and in or on public transportation.

Some businesses may require a face mask to enter.

Everyone is responsible to pick up their ribbons from the Trial Secretary.  Due to COVID-19 Ribbons are not self-serve for this event.   See section below on ribbons.

We appreciate your coming to our event.  If there is anything we can do to make your experience better, please let us know.  Contact Person is Mary Watcher, 520-456-9020, mary@animalwatchers.com.

Please be sure to read our COVID-19 Plan at the end of this section.  By attending this event you are agreeing to abide by the rules set forth in Amazing Canines/Animal Watchers COVID-19 Plan.   Please remember to bring your signed NADD waiver and signed NADD COVID-19 waiver (available on the NADD website).

Because of COVID-19 the pool will only be open for splashes on Saturday and Sunday.  We will not have a food vendor as we have no way to know if they are following COVID-19 guidelines.   We do not have fast food restaurants close by.  There is a Chevron station within a half-mile of us, and in Huachuca City (10 minute drive south of us) are a Circle K, and 3 restaurants.  Sierra Vista (15-20 minute drive) has plenty of fast food, chain restaurants, etc.

All start times are estimates.   We normally tend to start prior to the listed time.  However, you will always get your splash if you are ready at the scheduled time.

To make the diving order easier we are keeping the same diving order both days.  We will use your dog's name in alphabetical order.

AMAZING CANINES

NADD Facility Event COVID-19 Plan

July 11 and July 12, 2020

 OVERVIEW:

As of June 26, 2020, the state of Arizona does not require a face mask or gloves to be worn.  However, the Mayor of Sierra Vista is requiring masks to be worn in public places and some businesses will require a face mask to enter.  We are in a rural area.  Events may be held as long as there is enough room to accommodate the 6-foot distance requirement.   We will have 6-foot  markers appropriately spaced on the ground for canopies, parking, waiting in line, etc.

We made the decision not to require masks or gloves, as we will be strictly enforcing a 6-foot distance regulation.    Please help us by staying 6-feet away from everyone, even friends unless you drove here with them.   The same 6-foot rule applies if you need to speak with the trial secretary, judges, etc

Anyone who does not maintain a 6-ft distance will be asked to leave immediately and will forfeit their splashes/money.

 SOCIAL DISTANCING:

Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow spectators or try-its.

Everyone must check in before entering the pool area.

No Exceptions.

Parking:  We will not be able to have a "loading/unloading" area for this event.  Parking spaces will be clearly designated.

Check-In.  There will be a table(s) to the right of the entrance gate. 6-ft ground markers lead up to the check in-desk.  Please put your signed  1) NADD COVID-19 Waiver and 2) NADD Event Waiver into the appropriate boxes on the table.  These two Waivers must be completed, signed and dated prior to checking in.  They can be found on the NADD website and you may email them to me prior to the event:  mary@animalwatchers.com.

Payment.  Please have exact amount if paying by cash.  All checks need to be made payable to "Animal Watchers".  We will accept VISA or MC, but for this event it would be helpful to us (less contact with a person) if you can pay by cash or check.

Diving Order.  You will receive a "diving order of dogs"  the night before the event, or sooner.  The order will be by the dog's name, alphabetically. We are doing this so you don't have to crowd around the Entrance Gate or the secretary's area looking to see when it's your turn.  We will try to post the "diving order" in several places for your convenience.

Entering and Exiting the Grounds around the Pool:  There will be one gate to enter the pool vicinity and another to exit. They will be clearly marked.

Pool / Dock:  You will be entering the dock on the left staircase, again it is clearly marked Entrance.  You will be leaving the pool by the right side staircase.  There will be a divider between the 2 staircases.

Scores:  To avoid a gathering of people, we encourage you  to check your scores on the NADD website.  They are normally posted a few minutes after the secretary enters them.

Ribbons:  Ribbons will not be given out after each splash, nor are they self-serve.  At the trial secretary's table, one of our staff members (taking all the necessary sanitary precautions) will give you all your ribbons for the event in a plastic bag.  Again, please only approach the table one at a time, keeping 6-ft apart.

Leaving the Event Grounds:  When your splashes are finished for the day, please exit the grounds as soon as you can.  The less people we have on the grounds the easier it is to maintain 6-feet from other people.

SANITATION:

Gates:   All gates will remain open throughout the event including gates on the dock.  Please remember the 12 acres where the pool is located is not fenced in.

Bathrooms.  For this event our inside bathroom will not be available for use.  We will have 3 Port-a-Potties near the exit.  There is a 4th port-a-potty (handicap) over next to the agility field.  These port-a-potties will each have a bottle of Lysol and paper towels so you can wipe the toilet seat, door handle, etc.  Hand sanitizers will be available right next to the port-a-potties.

High-Traffic Areas:  We will sanitize the dock railings, tables,  etc. between splashes.  If you notice an area that needs to be sprayed, please let us know.

 FACILITIES INFORMATION

Entering:  Our driveway has an electronic gate.  The key pad is on the left side (driver's side) when entering.  The Code is 1, 2, 3, 4.  The Code is also written on the key pad.

Exiting:  The gate should open automatically for you.  If it does not open there is a red box on the left side of the driveway that has a remote control in it which has always worked.  Just point it towards the gate, push the button and return the remote to the box.
