Other Notes

Welcome everyone, and thanks for your enthusiasm! We are glad to be able to finally kick off another great pool season in these crazy times!

But PLEASE, if you are not feeling well, are immune compromised, or not yet comfortable out in public, PLEASE sit this one out for everyone’s well-being.

Last minute cancellations will not be penalized- just LET US KNOW!

Our next event in only about a month away!

We ask that you please be patient and flexible as we all struggle to meet new safety challenges, and work within government restrictions. Our cooperation and compliance will determine the future of this crisis, and our events, and nobody wants to see the curve reverse or restrictions increase. NADD facilities worked very diligently to devise systems that will work within re-opening guidelines, and while cumbersome and very labor intensive for us, and maybe not ideal for you, we think you’ll agree it sure beats staying home on the couch!

*UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE NUMBER RESTRICTION, WE WILL NOT BE HOSTING SPECTATORS AT THIS EVENT.

EVENT PROCEDURE:

We will have 3-4  two hour time blocks each day, limited to 10 people per block, in which each person will complete ALL the splashes they signed up for, for that day.

Estimate: 9-11, 11:30-1:30, 2-4, 4;30-?

After online entries close on Wed. June 10, times and numbers will be finalized, and a running order will be created for groups of 10 people by last names, and will then be emailed to all entrants.

We will try to match your desired early vs. later times as much as possible, but instead of being onsite all day, you will be doing ALL your jumps within a 2 hour time block, and leaving the premises.

All jumps will be done on the day indicated on the entry portal. No exceptions- please don’t ask!

ARRIVAL:

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your time block – no earlier, no later- so we can check you in and get your payment, and paperwork, and give everyone going on the dock a wristband.

ENTER the LOWER DRIVEWAY by the old barn, and stay to the right, to the front of the house, to help us manage the traffic flow and number of people going in and out. NO WORRIES about getting a good spot. There is plenty of shady parking, even while keeping a car width between each vehicle.  Parking spots will be marked.

Tents, etc. may be set up IN FRONT OF or BEHIND your vehicles, NOT beside. Only household members may share tents.

If you have an excitable dog, please back in to a space farther from the pool.

EVERYTHING you bring must be picked up and removed when you leave, promptly after your 2  hour time block, to make way for the next group.

The ADMIN tent will be open, with a table in the doorway to leave paperwork and make payments if not done already, ask questions, and obtain masks and additional sanitizing products if needed. Please bring your own writing implements. One (masked) person at a time will be permitted inside the tent, when necessary.

VENDING will be in a separate open-ended tent, with one person entering at a time (masked). Christina and Canines will be selling dog beds, (NEW!!) drying coats, and other goodies.

Check out  https://www.christinaandcanines.com/#/  For more social distancing and contactless payment, pre-purchase online to pick up at event.

Splash Town will have (NEW!) Punch cards, gift certificates and apparel for sale as well.  See https://splashtownk9.com/store

Review of NY COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES:

Allow yourself 6 feet of space from other people, and masks must be worn if in closer proximity. If you don’t have a face covering, one can be provided.

As always, dogs are to be leashed or contained at all times, except on dock, leaving at least 8’ between them. Make sure they stay comfortable and hydrated, and pick up after them.

Fresh air provides good ventilation, and sunshine provides good vitamin D, so enjoy!  when you enter the tents or get closer to people, wear a mask. (not required on the dock)

Be sure to bring your own (sanitized) toy, (and an extra). No one will be touching your toys. STAFF WILL NOT BE HOLDING OR THROWING FOR DOGS.

Sanitation stations will be provided at the ADMIN tent, and as you enter and exit the dock. The dock, and areas that will be touched frequently will be sprayed with disinfectant between time blocks.

Feel free to wipe down handles etc. before and after your use as well. Gloves will be provided if desired.

Clean your hands frequently, and anyone caught touching their face will have to wear the cone of shame!

NO FOOD OR DRINK will be provided at this event. Bring your own, or visit one of our wonderful local eateries (or vineyards!) for pick up service if dine-in is not yet available.

JUMPING:

Handlers meetings will be suspended, so PLEASE read and re-read your rules- available at https://northamericadivingdogs.com/content/view/cmsid/20/2018_North_America_Diving_Dogs_Rules .

Prior to the event day, you can address questions to the NADD Fan page, Splash Town page, or email us.

We will also provide you with a “cheat sheet” version at Check-in to address FAQs.) If you have further questions, bring them to the admin tent and we will have the judge respond.

We will have limited staff to keep numbers down, so please stay alert to the White Board, Wrangler, and PA announcements for your running order, and have your dog ready three dogs in advance.

( One ON THE DOCK,  one ON DECK , and  one IN THE HOLE )

Staff will NOT be holding anyone’s dogs, or throwing for them. Please arrange well in advance of your jump to have someone help you if needed.

Line up in designated areas maintaining at least  8’ distance throughout.

Team ON DECK will wait at the rear dock gate until the exiting team closes the front gate behind them.

Sorry, no humans in the pool at this event.

Video and photos are fine as long as you stay at least 6 feet from the pool, people, and away from the judge’s area.

RIBBONS:

If you DO NOT want your blue Q ribbons, please let us know at check in. Otherwise, at the end of each time block, they will be prepared by one gloved person, and placed in baggies labeled  by dog, and taped to the table at the admin tent. If there is a line, maintain your 6 distance, and please be patient.

Any other questions or concerns, let us know- splashtownwarwick@gmail.com- and we will do our best to address them. We want everyone to enjoy their visit to Splash Town and make great memories with their amazing dogs!

Let’s say a collective prayer for good weather, and great splashes for all! We thank you for your support and cooperation!
